The study included 997 liver cirrhosis: Child-Pugh class A – 21.7%; B 48.8%; C 29.5%. Esophageal varices Grades III–IV were diagnosed 95.5% patients, while gastric observed 17.4% patients. following methods used: endoscopic ligation, sclerotherapy, TIPS, laparoscopic azygoportal disconnection, distal splenorenal anastomosis. Results. Following procedures aimed at preventing onset bleeding, variceal recurrence 35.9% 18.6% cases, respectively. efficacy ligation case amounted 91.2%. Multiple provided means esophageal 56.2% Rebleeding was 9.3% persisted 34.3% TIPS found significantly reduce portal pressure grade varices, encephalopathy developing 41.4% In long-term period, stent dysfunction 22.5% recurred 10%. Laparoscopic disconnection contributed regression varices. 42.3% cases. anastomosis reliably prevented bleeding. No shunt thrombosis or lethal outcomes observed, incidence 14.7%. Conclusion. sufficient number are currently available treatment prevention case-specific approach choice measures treating cirrhosis is required, taking into account degree decompensation hypertension severity dysfunction.
